Essays and their receipts

The essays live on Substack. The receipts live here.

An essay says what I noticed. A receipt is the evidence it rests on — the prompts, the transcripts, the audio, the numbers — filed where a reader can check them without taking my word for it. Not every essay has receipts. Every essay that makes a claim about what a system did will get them.

Where it is public, check it against the world rather than against me.

The rule

What earns a receipts page

Any essay that claims a system did something — sang a line, dropped an instruction, kept a melody, changed a number — gets its evidence filed here: the inputs, the outputs, the method, and every place the evidence is weaker than the sentence.

Receipts are dated and marked. They do not get quietly edited to match the essay. If they disagree with the essay, the essay is corrected.

The instruments the writing runs on are on the front page, each with its state exposed.
